Change the World Weekend & Beyond...
Change the World is a weekend of simple acts of kindness with our neighbors to our community - to truly change lives. It highlights the connectional system of the United Methodist Church as churches all over the world work to make a difference.
Here's what's happening at LAUMC for Change the World weekend May 17-19 and beyond!
- Get on the Bus Ministry and Fundraising - LAUMC is sponsoring two buses; May 10 to Central California Women's Facility in Chowchilla, and June 7 to San Quentin Men's Proson. For $75, you can provide all the things necessary to send a child to visit their parent in prison. Of course, any donation amount is welcome. Thank you for your generous support.
- B-1 Fast to Fight Poverty - Our youth raised enough money to buy 160 bed nets to help fight malaria part of Africa. Youth members camped out and fasted for 24 hours from Friday, May 17 to Saturday, May 18 - ending with a Bolsa Chica beach cleanup and a fast-breaking noontime meal. Our youth ministry is committed to making a difference in the world! Visit our group webite.
- Blood Drive - Sunday, July 14 from 8:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. - We are hosting an American Red Cross blood drive. Donors and volunteers are needed.
