Greetings LAUMC Family,
As most of you know, we are getting ready to transfer to a new database system. I am very excited about this endeavor, as it will allow the church staff to communicate better with each other and with you all.
Please note that we will not be “getting rid of” people’s information. The current information on file will be archived and saved. However, for the new database, we do not want to start with old/outdated information. This is why it is imperative that you check your index cards for accurate information.
I know what you are thinking. “Well the church obviously can mail to me.” or “I get the church emails weekly!” You are correct. We probably have your address or your email. But is your birthdate correct? Are your phone numbers correct? If it is your work email we have on file, would you rather it be your personal email? Or vice versa?
Each person will have a card, adults and children alike. Please take your card or your family’s cards and double check, triple check them. Then return them to the person with the card box. If there are no changes, please initial the card so we know it has been checked. If there is not a card for you, or a member of your family, please ask the person with the cards to give you an information form. Please fill out that form and return it to the same people.
If you are unable to pick up and check your card today or next weekend, then we will mail your card. Please return it, checked and initialed, either in the offering plate or to the church office. If your card comes back from the post office, we will make all attempts to contact you. If we cannot reach you, then you will not be put into the new database until you fill out a new yellow card with all of your information.
I would like this process to be completed by November 15th so that we are able to start archiving information and transferring to the new system by the end of the year. If you have any questions or concerns regarding this, please feel free to contact me. Thank you for your cooperation; it is very much appreciated!
