Director of Caring Ministries Letter

Finding balance in our lives; be it physically, emotionally or spiritually, is a challenge faced on a daily basis. John Wesley encouraged members in small groups to find balance and encourage each other in that mission.

The book New Testament in 40 days has added a new dimension to my summer. Gathering in a small group with friends once a week to discuss our weekday readings, has given me a new perspective on some of these less familiar scriptures. Although not for the faint of heart, I’d like to lift it up as a book club format for small groups who would like to try something new, provide great conversation and get to know each other in a different light. Interested? Can I help you get connected with others who would like to give this a try? It is available online, in book format and in audio format. Balance…

A new opportunity to help with that balance is offered through our Blood Drive in Honor of Children’s Sabbath on Sunday, October 12th from 8:00 AM-2:00 PM. Additional information can be found in this week’s worship guide. Your soul will be warmed as you serve others and offer yourself to help save lives. Balance…

Attend the Caring Heart discussion in the fall led by Robin Wells, M. Div. to foster empathy and help connect to those in need physically, emotionally or spiritually. Watch for the date and time in the fall. Balance…

Fall prevention can avoid injury, aches and pain. Join our Fall Prevention Awareness Day Event on Tuesday, September 23 from 1:00 PM-4:00 PM in the Lounge which will include our New Chair Yoga Class from 1:00 PM-2:00 PM on Tuesdays, a Tai Chi Demonstration, Speaker on Preventing Falls, and information on local classes to help with balance and strength and contribute to an increase in physical confidence. An ongoing yoga class is also offered on Wednesday mornings from 8:00 AM-9:00 AM in the Lounge. Balance…

Each step along our life journey can bring us closer to God, to others and to know
ourselves, if we add balance. How is it with your soul?
