Pastor Letter

“I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
Your young men will see visions,
Your old men will dream dreams.”

The calling of God’s spirit, reflected in visions and dreams, is the life breath of the community of faith.

  • A vision fosters purpose.
  • A dream inspires hope.

The people of Los Altos United Methodist Church have been undergoing a visioning journey; exploring how we will move into the future. Next Sunday, October 19th we will gather in one service of worship at 10:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary, to open our hearts to God’s vision for us. We will unite our voices in praise and our hearts in prayer.

Our journey begins as we consider the invitation to live as stewardships of God’s dream and the resources entrusted to us. In worship we will: Share stories, ground ourselves in prayer and listen for a word of grace.

After our worship, a wonderful meal is being prepared in the fellowship hall for the whole church family. We will break bread together, and share our concerns, our hopes and dreams.

At our tables and after the meal, there will be an opportunities to clarify questions or concerns about the vision and plans for ministry and facility improvement. So if you have unanswered questions, simply want to “listen in” or are looking forward to celebrating the road ahead, come and join in the feast. There will be a wheelchair brigade present for those who do not wish to navigate the ramp down to fellowship hall alone.
