Today, the Pastor Parish Relations Committee invites you to join us in the lounge between 10:00 and 11:00 AM to say thanks to Diane Reksc for her service of over eight years to Los Altos UMC. Last month she resigned her position Director of Caring Ministries so that she could attend to family health issues and to focus on new directions in her faith journey.
Diane has been a member of the church since 1995. She joined the staff in July 2006 as the Director of Congregational Development. At that time our Pastors were Jerry Larsen and Andy Mattick. Her assignments changed several times; her subsequent titles, in succession were Director of Good News/ Children's and Family Ministry, Director Good News and Caring Ministry, Director of Congregational Development and Caring Ministries, and finally Director of Caring Ministries.
As the Director of Caring Ministry, Diane made visitors and new members along with our oldest to youngest members feel at home and part of our church family. As the coordinator of our Care Team, she supported the members of the team; the team visits and calls on those who are ill, homebound, in care facilities and in the hospital.
During her tenure, Diane was a tireless innovator. She led the Blood Drive for last 3 years, was Co Coach of Coed Softball team for 11 years total, organized the Fall Festival (Halloween Carnival) for several years and she was frequently a Confirmation Faith Friend.
Some of her notable projects include Actors in Progress, Car Show, Prayer Quilt Ministry, Mother's and later Women's morning Bible Study, Beat the Heat, Yoga, and Chair Yoga, Elementary School Human Sexuality program, Bunco night, Family Council Chair, SSP chaperone, Middle School Retreat Associate with Pastor Melinda.
No doubt, she has probably interacted with you on several fronts over the years. Please join us for cake and treats and convey your thanks to Diane.
